iGoogle

We have found out something very neat. What we found out is you can make different TABS on your iGoogle page and then every tab can have different stuff on it and a different theme. This is super cool cause it means that we can make a home page for us that is different but it's the same page.

Like we just made a page for me and Jewel and Rain and maybe Amanda if she is not to grown up today. It has fairy games and coloring and stuff like that. But also there is a page for the grown ups with things like calendars and to do lists.

There is very cool stuff to put on your iGoogle page. You can have games or organizing stuff. And you can make a tab for every part if you want and then that person can just click on their tab and they have all of their things right there. And they can look at a page that is just for them.

The best thing is it is free!! You do not have to pay even a little bit, and you can put neat stuff on there. And also because it is online that means if you are on someone else's computer then you can have your page, and then it will go away when you are not on their computer because you will not stay signed in on Google.

All you have to do is have a Google email or something then you sign in and then you make a page for every person!

The Easter bunny

Yesterday in the morning time the little kids here were super disapointed cause the Easter bunny did not come and leave us a basket. but Ellis said if we did not SAY we wanted a basket then we would not get one, and she did not know we wanted a basket so she did not tell W we wanted a basket. so we were disapointed.

We did not say about wanting a basket because we thought probly the Easter bunny would KNOW we wanted a basket and then we would get a basket that way cause the Easter bunny is MAGIC and a magic thing knows when someone is a little kid inside and will need a special thing like an Easter basket. But maby it is diffrent if you live in a stupid grown up body.

But then!! O!! What a suprise! We went to W's sister's house and she had a present just for US! Gess what?!? It was just like an Easter basket only she did not mean it to be like that, it just was. That is how we know the Easter bunny helped cause W's sister maby would have given us the present a diffrent day or she would not have the present.

She gave it to us just cause she is a nice person and she likes to give pepul presents all the time cause she likes pepul to be happy. She is a very nice persun.

What the present was is three very big BEE YOU TEE FUL cookies. They are decorated with sparkly stuff. They are a lion, a monkey and an elefunt. They are soooo beautiful. O! we love them very much! Probly we will eat them soon cause that is what you do with cookies. But first we will be happy to have these beautiful cookies. They came in a fancy bag with ribbons and paper grass. That is also how we know it is an Easter bunny thing.

O! It was so nice for her to give those to us! You do not have to give us a present to be nice to us, but when we get a present it makes us soooooooooo happy!

Thank you so much!

PS-We cwaperated on this post caues we all wanted to write. We are getting GOOD at cwaperating!

Groovy Girls

I am writing about Groovy Girls. They are really super toys. They are not too big and not too little. They have VERY friendly faces. I am getting a whole COLLECTION of Groovy Girls. Mostly that is because we cannot find the clothes for sale, but we can find the dolls.

One good thing about Groovy Girls is they come in almost every single color that a person is colored. And they can all be friends. That is why they are a good toy if somebody might feel bad about what color THEY are, because then they can see that all colors are very good, not just some colors.

Also they are good because they are just the right size to play with.

If you know a girl who needs a present, then maybe she will like to have a Groovy Girl. They are the same age as a girl, and not a grown up like Barbie is. Also, they are not too expensive. They cost only ten dollars or something. So if someone gets an allowance, then they could save that allowance for just a few weeks, and then they could get their OWN Groovy Girl.

That is all.

From Michelle, but also Jewel and Rain like this post too. We are sharing. Kara did not help because she is still very little.

Pioneer Girls

I can't make the pictures work quite right, but the first one is of Laura's dugout site, the second one is of the homesteading house outside of De Smet, SD, and the third one is of Caddie Woodlawn's house. Caddie's house is the real house where she lived, and the homesteading house is made just the same as the one Laura's Pa built. You can read more about this in this post.

We have been traveling across the country, and we got to see lots of places where pioneer girls lived. One pioneer girl was Caddie Woodlawn. Her real name was Caroline Woodhouse, but they called her Caddie. When she was a girl, she lived in Wisconsin on the frontier, because this was back in the 1860s. Kind of when Laura was born in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. The place where her family lived is a park now. They have their real house, and also a pump where you can pump water, and some other things. There is no one who works there, so you just look around and have a picnic.

The other pioneer girl whose places we went to was Laura Ingalls Wilder. I have loved those books almost forever. First we went to Pepin, Wisconsin, where she was born. They built a log cabin that is like the one her Pa made. They also had souvenir shops.

Then we went to Walnut Grove. That is where Plum Creek is, where they lived in a dugout, which is a house dug into the side of a creek bed or something, and also their house, but their house wasn't there any more. There was a lot of stuff in the museum about the TV show of Little House on the Prairie, because that was where the TV show was.

We went to a pageant, which is a play that people put on about something like history or something they care about. This one was about Walnut Grove when the Ingalls family lived there. It was very fun.

Then we went to De Smet. That is where her family stayed for the longest. They have a very good museum there, and other things too. This was the place with the best things to look at and buy. The people there knew a lot about the books, and also what happened to the family after the books were done.
Then the best thing happened!

We went to the Loftus store, which is still there, and the man who worked there asked if we were staying in a covered wagon at the Ingalls Homestead. We didn't know about those! So we went and asked, and we got to stay in a covered wagon (even though it was more like a tinker's wagon or something, and not a prairie schooner). We also got to see the really wonderful museum the people made there. And we made a corn cob doll, and a button toy. We cooked our dinner in a dutch oven with legs, like what they called a spider in the books. (This was ours, so if you go, you should bring your own.)

What is really cool is this is the real place where Pa homesteaded. That is where people used to be able to get land from the government for almost no money (they just had to pay for a certificate or something). Pa did this, and the family lived there. We made our fire with branches and twigs that fell to the ground from the actual cottonwood trees Pa planted. We got to ride a covered wagon to a school built at just the same time as the Perry School where Laura taught for a term. And they had lots of pioneer crafts to do, and I got to do them even though I'm not really a little kid, but it was okay to do them at this museum. That was great.

If you like Laura Ingalls Wilder, you should definitely go to De Smet. The people we met there also really like her, and they make things at the museums as much like when she was alive there as they can. They have really good things.
Oh! Also, when we were getting souvenirs, one of them was a CD with a recording of Laura's ACTUAL VOICE. That is so cool! We will be traveling more, and other parts have lots they want to say, but I am taking my turn now, and they can write their own things later. This is Michelle.

Good things

This is Michelle. I am writing about some good things that happened, because my mommy was not a bad person she just sometimes didn't do a super good job, but lots of times, she did good things.

Like one good thing I remember is this. She used to bake very beautiful cakes for the school carnival. They were yummy and they looked very pretty, too. She did not get a store bought cake to send, she made it herself. And when they had the cake walk, where you walk around and when the music stops you land on a number, and if they pick that number, you get to choose a cake, her cake was always the very first one someone would pick. One year, one of us kids won the cake walk, and we took the cake she made, because we knew it was the yummiest one there. My mommy was a good baker.

And when I was in second grade, she made cupcakes for my pretend birthday at school. They were pretty and pink and they had roses inside of them, real rose petals. They were delicious. She brought those to school, and the kids liked them a lot.

And another time, after the rose show at school, she picked me up at school with the car. It was just her and me, and no little kids at all. I was seven. We went on some errands, and she gave me a special present. The special present was a book that she liked when she was little, and she thought I would like it too. It was the Secret Garden. I like that book a lot, and also the Little Princess. I do not like Little Lord Fauntleroy so well, but I like the other two books a lot because they are about girls.

My mommy also used to make me clothes. She sewed very nice clothes. I had a really good sailor dress, and it was made out of sail cloth, even. I went to the fabric store and picked out the cloth myself. And it had a tie with it. It was a very nice dress. Also, there were a lot of other dresses she made for me. I liked all of the different things she could make. She made me a dress like Little House on the Prairie, too, because she knew I liked those books a whole lot.

Another good thing my mommy did was we always had lots of paper and glue and crayons to use. We could use just as much paper or glue as we wanted, and it was okay if we made things and colored and drew. Also, we would go to the library and get lots of books, and it was okay if we read lots of books.

I know that sometimes she was not nice and she sometimes did things that hurt, but I think maybe that is because she had too many kids and nobody could help her, and she would forget a lot of the time that we were just little kids, and not grown ups, and we could not do all of the things she wanted. And sometimes, we would forget and do something that made her mad. But when she was not mad, she was very nice and she tried to take good care of us. I am writing about this because I do not want people to think she was not nice or good, because she was, but not all the time, just when she could be. She did lots of good things that I did not write about here, too.

More About Magic

by Michelle.

Here is some more stuff that I will write about magic. Lots of parts inside do different kinds of magic.

The little ones and the hiding ones do a special magic. Their magic is so when something is going to hurt the body or is too scary, they can get outside of the body and then watch something happening. If a part is there and they are scared too, then they can sometimes go with the little one or the hiding one who is doing this, and they can not be there when something is scary. This is magic because it means you are floating away and not inside the body. Mostly they do not do this, but sometimes when something scary happens, like someone falls down the stairs, they will still help everyone just watch so they do not get hurt so bad.

The Story Girl, mostly, and Amanda and me a little bit too, we watch to see if there is something magic we can use to get into a magic land or get wishes or something like that. We have never found one yet, but we are still looking. Jamie and the other teenagers help because they like to find money on the ground, and sometimes magic things look like money, so they help. We also look for special cool things like shells, and we are very good at finding them because we practice looking for magic things. Also, we look for maybe a magic path, like they found to go to Narnia.

A lot of us are good at turning invisible. Sometimes you have to do a spell, but sometimes, you just have to remember that you need to be invisible.

Rynn and someone else who does not want me to say who it is, they are very good at making shields. A shield is a thing so people can not make you feel bad. It also makes it ok so that you don't have to feel all the spiky things from people around you, when they are thinking too loud or something. I think they were the ones who made the first safe places inside. The one who does not want me to say who it is made her safe place too strong, and she got stuck and now she does not know how to get out. But Rynn, she did it a little different. She made houses for people. She did not remember about the little kids, but we found safe places. Without the safe places inside, it is just thorns and scary places with the monsters and you have to be super careful so they do not notice you. But the safe places inside are better, and you can play. And when Rynn made the safe world inside, then we kids could make good places to go to also. W. helped us to build the magic house and town. That is our favorite place, and mostly we are all living there now when we are inside. It is a place where all of us can go, and sometimes W. can visit us there even.

Rynn also makes our room safe, but she is not very good at this any more. What she does is, instead of the shields just being inside us, she puts them around a room, or around an apartment. But she does not know how to make the shields just right, so they do not work as well as they used to do. The shields she put around our old room, those kept people out of our room even after we went away. We found out, because someone in our family asked, "What did you do to your room? I don't want to go in there ever." And since our old room turned into that person's room when we left, that shows how good those shields were!

The Hip Chyck does something that is a little bit magic, and she even thinks it is magic. What she does is, she knows that believing in something enough, and working at it, can make it happen. She is saying it is not exactly magic like in books, but it is magic to me because it is about making things happen that wouldn't happen if you didn't believe really hard. What she does is she believes really hard that something good can happen, and she acts like it is going to happen and does work, and then it does happen, even if other people said it couldn't.

The Mama does a special magic. She does magic so that where we live is a nice place to be. When we lived at home, she also did lots of magic so that people would be calmer and not fight so much. She also does little spells about things like being happy and calm and safe at home. Also, she does little spells to get parking spaces sometimes.

The Mama and the Hip Chyck, and Rynn a little bit, and the Story Girl a little bit do a magic inside. They call it "grounding," but it is not the bad kind of grounding that is a punishment. It is a kind of grounding that helps things to be quieter inside, and stops too much poking stuff from getting in from the outside. It takes our energy and it connects it to the center of the world going down and to the stars going up, and then we can breathe better and feel better. Also, Hip Chyck learned in self defense class that if you do this, when someone pushes you or something, you don't fall over as easily, but it doesn't take energy to not fall over.

These are two magic spells the Mama and the Hip Chyck made together that we use when we need them.

One is if we are looking for something and can't find it. We say, "If I were the ____, where would I be? Right here on the _____ where she could find me." And then we find it. But you have to make sure you are using magic when you do it, and how the Mama says you use the magic is you find the string inside yourself that is connected to the thing you are looking for, and then you follow that string to where it is. It works the best if you were the last person to touch that thing.

Another one is so we don't worry so much about money stuff. It goes like this: "With the waxing of the moon, so may our prosperity grow. With the waning of the moon, so may our troubles fade away." Mostly, the grown ups use this one. It is a spell they can say whenever they see the moon, and then things will get better and they will not have to worry so much, and they will keep getting better. The Mama and the Hip Chyck say it is ok to be pagan AND a Christian or something else. They say that God is not just a man like in my picture Bible, but is something we can't understand. I think this is probably true, because one time when I was praying and thinking about God, when I saw God, it was a beautiful flower that smelled good and made me feel better. So God is lots of things, so that spell is ok to do. It does not make God upset.

Some of the grown-ups don't like to tell people about the magic, because they are embarrassed. Those grown-ups are Cleo and the Analyst and the Smart One. They don't think magic is real. Everybody else inside believes in it and does different kinds of magic. Some of it is to keep us safe. Some of it is to make things better and happier. The Hip Chyck says her magic is especially to make the whole world a better place and to show other people that they can make things better and they can do things even if they don't think they can.

Magic

by Michelle.

S. says she does not think magic is real. But I think she is wrong. This is because I do magic, and it is important to do some kinds of magic. Maybe some of my magic is just silly little kid stuff. But lots of my magic is very important.

These are the reasons I do magic: 1. So that people will love me because I don’t forget about doing important things like jobs, and so they will not think I did not do my jobs. 2. So that people won’t make a mistake and get me in trouble when I was not the one who did something bad. 3. So that I will not have nightmares.

The most important is about nightmares. This is the magic I do so I will not have nightmares. 1. I make sure to step on every single crack when I am walking on the sidewalk. And especially I make sure that I do not walk across a driveway when a car is in the street. 2. I say my prayers before I go to sleep and I ask God to make sure I don’t have any nightmares. 3. I sleep very carefully, curled up, and invisible. 4. I count things like the stairs so I know how many steps away a person is if I hear the stairs, and so if I wake up after a nightmare and it is dark I will not fall down the stairs.

This kind of magic is only good for one kind of nightmares. Those are the kind where something heavy is holding you down and there is scary breathing and you can’t breathe and it makes your tummy hurt.

It is very important to always do the magic so that you will be safe from these nightmares.

There are other kinds of magic, too, but that is the most important one.

Some of the other parts also do magic that helps to keep us safe. They are in charge of other kinds of magic. My magic is just about being good, and being invisible, and not having nightmares. Sometimes I forget to do some part of the magic, and then something bad happens.

Maybe this is because you can not do magic 100% of the time, but only part of the time, and sometimes, you don’t do it at the important time, since you maybe aren’t good at magic and you don’t know when the important time is to do it. But if you remember to be very careful and always do the magic every single time, then maybe you will go for two weeks or something and not have one single nightmare. It is not so easy to make people love you, or to always be invisible all the time, but if you are careful, you can mostly do this too.

Tea set

We made the tea set today. W remembered to say "Can Michelle come play" and I DID and I got to paint the tea set and that was fun. And then we had a tea party with the dolls.

Sometimes I don't get attention cause I don't make a big noisy fuss like Ramona in the books does, but maybe sometimes its not a big fuss if you just tell someone you want to have attention. And this time no one forgot and I got to do something fun, and that was really great.

I read somewhere that people aren't sposed to ask for a different part to come out but I can't come out very easy and the other parts push and they getta come out and I don't so when W. asked for me especially then I got to come out so I think it's ok even if the people say it's not sposed to be like that.

We had a fun tea party and now the tea set is painted with polka dots like I wanted and none of the other parts really wanted a tea set anyways they just always like to come out. But I do too, and I got to.

This is Michelle.
